City and School Offices: A primary election for city offices shall only be held if the number of candidates that file for an office is more than three (3) times the number of positions to be elected. The names of twice the number of candidates as there are members to be elected who received the greatest number of votes at the primary election shall appear on the ballots in the general election. (K.S.A. 25-2108a)

 

 

 

School Board Positions: For Ellsworth County school districts, a primary election shall be held if more than three (3) candidates file for any one position. The names of the two (2) candidates receiving the greatest number of votes will appear on the general election ballot.

If you would like to register to vote for the first time, please visit our office in the Ellsworth County Courthouse at 210 N Kansas, Ellsworth KS, or for more information call our office at 785-472-4161. 

If you have questions concerning your eligibility to vote, you may contact our office or the Kansas Secretary of State's office at (800) 262-8683.

Kansas Voter View can be helpful if you are unsure as to whether or not you are registered to vote and if so, at what address you are registered at. You can also view the ballots before election day. 


You may need to update your voter information if you:

-Moved to a different address in Ellsworth County
-Changed your name
-Need to change your party affiliation
