Now accepted at the Recycling Center: Old Cell Phones, Household Batteries,Ink Jet Cartridges and Laser Jet Cartridges! For more info contact the Ellsworth County Noxious Weed Dept. @ 785-472-3132

What is Accepted

Accepted in the large trailer and bins located outside at the Weed Dept.

  • Newspaper - ( And anything that comes inside the newspaper, such as sales ads and fliers).
  • Corrugated Cardboard - ( Also brown paper sacks. No cereal boxes - cracker boxes e.t.c.).
  • Magazines - ( And catalogs , slick paper only).
  • Clear Plastic - ( Anything you can see through). Look on the bottom for a triangle with a number 1 in it.
  • Milk Jugs - ( Milk Jugs Only).
  • Tin Cans - ( Need to rinsed).
  • Non-Corrugated Cardboard - ( Cereal boxes, shoe boxes, phone books,etc).
  •  Junk Mail - ( Envelopes, letters, fliers, No bright colors).
  • Aluminum Cans - ( Needs to be rinsed).
  • Plastic Grocery Bags .

 

                                              Inside the Weed Dept.

  • White Paper - ( Typing paper, copy paper).
  • Shredded Paper - ( Bagged up).
  • Computer Paper

 

                                                     Accepted in the small trailer.

  • Tin Cans
  • Milk Jugs
  • Clear Plastic
  • NO SHREDDED PAPER

PLEASE NOTE :  Our small trailer goes to Kanopolis the 1st weekend of each month, Holyrood the 2nd weekend of each month, Wilson on the 3rd weekend, and Lorraine on the 4th weekend.

We take our trailer to be emptied three to four times per month, averaging about 9,500 lbs. per month.

We would like to thank everyone for the huge effort their making to recycle.
