Office hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday.

Ellsworth County maintains 80 miles of paved roads, 160 miles of gravel roads and 762 bridges. Maps showing the County maintained roads can be viewed on the Township's page.
NOTICE OF CLOSURE:
Avenue L between 7th and 11th Roads will be closed beginning on 3/30/2018 to replace a bridge. The road will be closed for at least 2 months. Click here to see map.
Permits are required for any type of work in the County right-of-ways. Permits can be obtained by contacting the office.
Moving permits are also required. They may be obtained by contacting the County clerk’s office.
Ellsworth County has job openings only when positions open up. We have pre-employment drug screenings and monthly random drug testing.
Ellsworth County Highway Department is now hiring for 2 positions:
1. Mechanic/Shop Foreman - Pay will depend on experience and qualifications
2. Labor/Truck Driver - Starting pay is predetermined

Snow – all County blacktop and gravel roads are opened starting as soon as possible with snow problem only.
Ice – salt trucks will only salt roads (paved) when temperature reaches 20 degrees F or above. Sunshine on the salt will let us salt with lower temperatures.
